Tasting Notes: Crisp and vibrant acidity frames flavors of crisp green apple, citrus peel, and ripe pear. The wine has a lean, elegant texture with a distinct flinty minerality characteristic of Chablis-style Chardonnay. There are subtle hints of vanilla and a touch of oak that integrate seamlessly.
Food Pairings: With a high acidity, this wine works great as a palate cleanser and works well with creamy sauces. For simple perfection, pair with grilled salmon filets finished with a little butter and a bright splash of lemon.
About the wine: Slusser Vineyard is located in the middle of reach of the Russian River Valley. It’s a 50 acre vineyard composed of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc vines. Planted in 1992, the vineyard is planted in Cortina gravelly loam soil, which seldom needs irrigation. The Russian River Valley has a chactertiscally cool climate (thanks to the coastal fog!) which helps it produce some of the world’s best Chardonnays & Pinot Noirs.
