2022 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

County southeast to Healdsburg, the Alexander Valley AVA has a sleepy, agricultural character. But don’t let that fool you; with soils similar to Bordeaux, the Alexander Valley is producing some of the world’s best Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. We have been lucky enough to source from the Reynoso Vineyard for many years, so we are excited to continue the tradition and produce another great vintage. In 2022, we received lower yields than expected, but the fruit we received was very high quality, with strong structure and terroir-driven characteristics. Once the fruit arrived in Oceanside, we destemmed and processed it here on site. The grapes then fermented for about 2 weeks. After pressing, the wine was aged for 20 months in 20% new French oak and 80% once used French Oak before being bottled in September 2024.
