2023 North Coast Saignee Rosé

The North Coast AVA encompasses many small wine appellations spanning over six counties located north of San Francisco, including Napa & Sonoma. Our Saignée Rose is made up of fruit from several different smaller AVAs, including Knights Valley, Alexander Valley and Chalk Hill, so identifying with the larger North Coast AVA is perfect for this blend. This Rosé is made in the Saignée style, which translates to “to bleed” in French. This is when you “bleed” off a portion of the red wine juice after it’s been in contact with the skins & seeds. We made this Rosé from multiple red wines, including our tempranillo and all the Bordeaux varieties. We fermented the juice in a stainless steel tank before aging half in French Oak and half in stainless steel. The oak adds a little body & texture contributing to the round mouthfeel. The finished wine was bottled in May 2024. Our Rosé is a part of our Pay it Forward series, where we donate a portion of the proceeds to an organization!
