2023 Super Tuscan

The term Super Tuscan describes a bold, modern style of wine originating in Tuscany, Italy, traditionally blending Sangiovese with classic French varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Our 2023 vintage follows that tradition with a thoughtfully crafted blend of 60% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot, 10% Malbec, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Syrah. We’re thrilled to bring back this style, our first Super Tuscan release since 2018. The majority of the fruit comes from Alexander Valley in northeastern Sonoma County, where vineyards stretch from the valley floor into the slopes of the Mayacama Mountains, lending depth, structure, and character to the blend. Once the fruit arrived in Oceanside, we destemmed and processed it here on site. The grapes then fermented separately for about two weeks. After about 20 months of being barreled separately, our Winemaker tasted each varietal and came up with this distinct blend before bottling the wine in July 2025.
