Our Grenache is sourced from Lake County, which is about an hour & a half North of Napa. Clear Lake, the largest natural lake in California, is at its center, and then the vines are planted around the lake at a higher altitude. These grapes are coming from the Two Brothers Vineyard which is an 81 acre property growing 9 different grape varietals. It’s a hillside property between 1650 to 1900 feet with deep red volcanic soils, and stunning views of Clear Lake & Mount Konocti. The 2022-2023 winter provided record breaking rainfall, which revitalized the soils and encouraged healthy canopies. A cooler Spring & Summer meant harvest started later than usual, but allowed the grapes to develop gradually, enjoying the extra ripening time. Once the fruit arrived in Oceanside, we destemmed and processed it here on site. The grapes then fermented for about two weeks. After pressing, the wine was aged for 10 months in 25% once used American Oak and 75% once used French Oak before being bottled in September 2024.
